Striking Surge in Illegal Migration: U.S. Drowning in Deportation Notices

The border crisis continues to worsen under the Biden administration, with more than 150,000 new deportation hearings ordered in July alone. This means an average of 4,800 migrants entered the country every day last month, three times more than what the administration claimed it would allow.

Importantly, over 820,000 migrants have been allowed into the country this year, exceeding the previous record of 797,800 set in 2022. All seven months of 2023 rank in the top ten months with the most immigration court cases filed since 2000.

Meanwhile, approximately 530,000 migrants have entered the country without being caught since October 2022. This past May, the administration allowed border authorities to deport migrants quickly, but the end of Title 42 has only exacerbated the crisis.

Moreover, through their use of the “parole” authority, the administration has allowed at least 541,000 migrants into the country without visas during the last two years, making the situation even worse. The crisis has now spread far beyond the border, with states like Massachusetts asking citizens to house illegal immigrants due to a dire shelter shortage.

New York City, one of the cities affected, is reaching a breaking point as it struggles to manage the 55,000 migrants currently being housed on the city’s dime. Since April 2022, more than 90,000 migrants have arrived in New York City, causing homeless shelters to reach capacity and the city to pour $1.2 billion into aiding the migrants.

Democratic Mayor Eric Adams recently announced a plan to house up to 2,000 adult migrants in a tent city on Randalls Island in the East River, as the city grapples with finding enough shelter beds every night. Adams continues to blame others for the migrant emergency, including Texas, the White House, and New York’s state government.

This crisis has led to even more dire consequences, with two alleged sexual assaults involving migrants reported in upstate New York, leading the county to demand that Adams cease sending illegal migrants there. As the border crisis worsens, it’s clear that the Biden administration must take action to address this issue before it’s too late.

  • immigrants are only supposed to let in if they are self sufficient and not a burden os the US. We should not be allowing this but nobody listens to the taxpayers ever.
