Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich recently took to Fox News to announce that it’s time to put an end to the third GOP debate. And he’s right: why waste valuable time and money when the race is already over?
With Donald Trump leading the polls by a landslide and refusing to participate in the debates, there’s simply no point in continuing. Pollster Matt Towery agrees, stating that after Wednesday’s debate, “the race is over.”
It’s time for the Republican National Committee to face the facts: Trump will be the nominee. So why bother with more debates that are only slowing the party down and not helping anyone?
Gingrich suggests canceling future debates and working with Trump to secure victory in the general election. And with Trump’s huge lead—up to 43 points in some areas—there’s simply no denying that he’s going to be the nominee.
But it’s not just about winning the nomination. Gingrich believes that Trump has a good chance of winning the general election, given the strong state of the economy and other critical issues facing America. With Trump at the helm, America can finally get back on track and start moving forward.
And when it comes to viewership numbers, Gingrich predicts that they’ll be even worse than the first debate. Why waste time on something that’s just going to fall flat?
Overall, it’s time to stop the nonsense and get behind the clear winner: Trump. Any middle ground is simply unacceptable. It’s either Trump or Joe Biden, and there’s simply no competition. With Trump, America can finally get the strong, conservative leadership it needs to thrive.
