Former President Donald Trump extended his condolences over the passing of Bill Ritchie Sr., the father of renowned musician and staunch supporter, Kid Rock. In a heartfelt message on Truth Social on Tuesday, Trump reminisced about his acquaintance with Ritchie Sr., praising him for his exceptional character and dedication to his family above his professional achievements.
“Bill Ritchie, Sr., the remarkable father of Bob, also known to many as Kid Rock, has left us after valiantly battling cancer. Over the past three years, I had the pleasure of getting to know Bill quite well. He was truly extraordinary—not only a man of success but someone who prioritized his family above all else,” Trump shared in his post.
Trump further honored Ritchie Sr.’s legacy, acknowledging his role as a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He highlighted Ritchie’s visionary talents and his unique persona, expressing his deep sympathies to the Ritchie family. “Bill’s absence will be profoundly felt,” Trump added.
Kid Rock, whose birth name is Robert James Ritchie, publicly announced the death of his father last week, sharing his grief and admiration for the patriarch of the Ritchie family.
“My Dad, Bill Ritchie Sr, has joined Jesus. He was an exemplary father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and so much more, embodying a truly distinctive character. I appreciate all your condolences. God Bless, and I love you Pop!” Kid Rock posted on X, previously known as Twitter.
Reports from The Detroit News reveal that William Ritchie Sr. resided in Royal Oak and Romeo, Michigan, with his wife, Susan Ritchie. Kid Rock has been a vocal supporter of Trump since the 2016 presidential campaign, engaging in visits to the White House, participating in golf outings with Trump, and rallying political support through his music, including a 2022 single critical of President Biden and Anthony Fauci.
