Is History Repeating Itself? DHS Gears Up to ‘Safeguard’ Democracy in 2024!

Start spreading the news, another door just opened for government interference in our elections. The Department of Homeland Security thinks it’s their right to step on our toes, according to an exclusive interview by USA Today’s Josh Meyer with DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on May 8.

DHS is presenting itself as the brave knight fighting the supposedly “unprecedented array of election threats,” but let’s call a spade a spade here. This is another way to undermine the bedrock of democracy: free and fair elections. Mayorkas tries to champion the “right to vote” and its “integrity” but his assurances of a “nonpartisan” effort seem more a smokescreen.

Despite his claims, USA Today depicts this program as an antidote primarily to anti-democratic forces on the conservative side, raising eyebrows. They even suggest that Democrats fear violence if Biden is not re-elected.

It becomes more clear that Mayorkas’ aim is to wage a war against “disinformation”, similar to the notorious Disinformation Governance Board (DGB), which never got off the ground.

The real puppet master is the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), coordinating this initiative with local election officials. Senior advisor to CISA, Cait Conley articulated their role as providing security guidance against threats and offering recommendations for mitigating them.

To fight these so-called threats, CISA launched Protect24, a website supplying materials to election officials. Have they created the boogeyman they choose to chase?

They claim disinformation tactics are used by “actors” capitalizing on conspiracy theories, with an ill-concealed hostility towards user-friendly platforms characterized as tools of “subversive elements.”

Another section, “Election Security Rumor vs. Reality”, attempts to assure us that mail-in-balloting and unsupervised ballot drop boxes are totally legit. Remember CISA used its power to muffle concerns around these practices during the 2020 election too.

Mike Benz of ‘Freedom for Freedom Online’ puts it plainly: the Election Integrity Partnership flagged 27 million tweets to be trashed by social media platforms, dangling the sword of censorship over freedom of speech.

In leaked emails, Alex Stamos of the Stanford Internet Observatory reveals the true purpose of EIP was to coordinate this censorship.

The conservative voice is being stifled. We need to get Big Tech to adhere to the First Amendment, clarify on hate speech and ensure fair play for conservatives. Report any censorship experience, let’s hold Big Tech to account!

The eagle-eyed vigilance of our citizens is what keeps democracy alive. It is crucial to stay aware of these developments to ensure that the sanctity of our voting process is not compromised. The country needs balanced and unbiased oversight, not censorship veiled under the guise of ‘security’. Stay informed, stay empowered.
