ABC News certainly dropped the ball during The View’s Tuesday episode as the hosts babbled about Dr. Anthony Fauci and the origin of COVID-19. They revealed their startlingly simplistic understanding of a concept that’s understood by many – the virus didn’t originate in the U.S.

Sunny Hostin, co-host of ABC’s The View, puffed with indignation about the seemingly fruitless 15-month investigation into the virus’s origin by the House. She fixated on the notion that the origin must be located outside the U.S., an idea shared by a majority of Americans for quite some time now.

What’s oddly amusing is that this idea of an overseas origin of COVID-19, specifically in Wuhan, China, was already widely known. Hostin seemed to ‘rediscover’ the wheel here while maintaining her air of righteousness. The simplicity didn’t end there; her co-host, Joy Behar, piped in with the groundbreaking revelation that the virus possibly escaped from a lab.

The hypocritical moment of the day came when Behar, fresh from mocking Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene’s intelligence, proposed some fantasy theory of a lab leak. After casting aspersions on Greene’s suitability to serve on a scientific committee, it’s ironic she spent most of her time on screen stating the obvious.

Surely, to top off the day’s absurdities, moderator Whoopi Goldberg fabricated claims about Republicans doubting the virus’s existence without providing any substantial evidence. She proceeded to express her disdain for TV, confounding viewers about where she derived her claim.

Adding to the rehearsed melodrama, Alyssa Farah Griffin, pretending to be conservative, expressed her high blood pressure over Republican raking of her best friend, Fauci. She rightly felt honored to serve alongside him purely because of his fame, completely disregarding the questions around his actions related to the pandemic.

Their nonsensical chatter seems to be a desperate attempt to protect their favorite immunology expert and discount non-leftist views. In all, it was an excellent display of ill-informed, one-dimensional discussions that suppresses the quest for truth, led by The View’s hosts.

Their uninformed viewpoint reflects their blatant disregard for facts, commitment to predetermined narratives, and lackadaisical approach to hard-hitting journalism. As always, unaffected by their ignorance, they continue their misguided broadcast, delivering a paragon example of what journalism should strive not to imitate.
