Get this: the mainstream media’s darling, President Biden, just executed an order regarding the US/Mexico border amid the ongoing crisis. The real kicker? This move comes three whole years into said crisis. Yea, talk about moving with a snail’s pace. And guess who the media’s lobbing blame grenades at? That’s right, Donald Trump and the supposedly uncooperative Republicans.

The folks over at ABC proudly repeated “shut down.” Apparently making their viewers believe Biden’s flipped a magical switch that solves the whole border issue. The president claims he had no choice but to pull out his executive order weapon, pinning the blame on Republicans dismissing negotiations in Congress. And ABC’s Rachel Scott dutifully parroted this narrative from the cozy confines of the White House.

Here’s the thing they didn’t highlight, the proposed “shutdown” only kicks in after a daily average of 2,499 illegal crossings. Add to that a loophole big enough to drive a truck through for women and unaccompanied minors. So much for a “shutdown.”

CBS was subtle in avoiding the sensational “shut down” phrase, nevertheless pointed fingers at Republicans for daring to question signing an executive order chock-full with political implications. Nimble Nancy Cordes gave us a delightful lesson in hypocrisy as she pounced on the Republicans for daring to question why Biden used an executive order to address a problem he flamed into a raging blaze of crisis via…wait for it…his own executive orders.

And please, can we not forget the failed Senate border bill that would have allowed a whopping daily average of 4,999 illegal crossings before requiring action. What a way to secure a border!

Now, NBC tried to add a dash of honesty in their reporting. Their golden boy, Lester Holt, started his segment with an air of respectability, announcing Biden’s sidestepping of Congress to address the border issue. He even acknowledged that this issue has made the president politically vulnerable. Much to their chagrin, moving past the glimmer of honesty leads us back to the blame game central, this time with Democrats slamming down on Republicans for blocking a bipartisan border bill.

In reality, it boils down to one thing: politics over people. While media outlets spin a narrative of a heroic Biden battling the odds, the very real border crisis continues to escalate. Whether CBS wants to believe it or not, people are suffering as a result of this executive order.

To top it all off, the pressing question in all of this remains: how soon could the border be shut down for real? The mainstream media might need another three years to get to that answer.
