Isn’t it remarkable how a show like MSNBC’s ‘The ReidOut’ thrives on the tirades of race-baiting? The recent outburst from host Joy Reid and contributor Elie Mystal was a unique blend of prejudice and hypocrisy that confirmed just that.
Mystal presented a controversial opinion, profiling Candace Owens, Byron Donalds, Tim Scott, and Clarence Thomas as being not much else than fed individuals to tell the white population what they want to hear in exchange for hefty monetary gain. What an odd perspective to have about fellow African-Americans just because they hold a diverse political standpoint.
Reid and Mystal’s chat revolved around the idea of conservative blacks thriving because they appease white folks and being showered with money in return. Mystal concluded that this explains the financial success of those mentioned, specifically Clarence Thomas who reportedly received more in disclosed gifts than Antonin Scalia or Sam Alito in the past two decades.
Wait a minute, isn’t this what MSNBC does in a broader sense; catering to the appetite of its largely liberal audience, confirming biases, and giving affirmation to what they already believe? The irony here is that Reid and Mystal are potently preaching the very thing they’ve been profiting from. Who is their main object of interest, by the way? Could there be an enormous diversified audience they’re targeting that we’re missing?
Beyond their unfounded criticisms of conservative minorities, Reid and Mystal just seemed intent on bashing Supreme Court Justices. They seemed keen to pressure these distinguished individuals into recusing themselves ahead of two significant decisions related to obstruction and presidential immunity, likely affecting ex-President Donald Trump in the process. Their bias towards “Fix the Court”, a known left-wing funded group, that ironically faces its own ethics issues, couldn’t be more apparent. I guess it’s easier to point fingers than to self-reflect, isn’t it?
But here’s the kicker – while they eagerly toss around accusations of racism and spew divisive drivel for ratings, don’t they realize that it’s a sort of exploitation that relies on telling more liberal-leaning whites what they prefer to hear? Isn’t that just an attack on free and independent thinking?
In conclusion, next time Reid or Mystal decide to enlighten us with another lecture about democracy, perhaps they should consider this fact: their own feed might be cluttered with hypocrisy and a lack of self-awareness. Just a humble reminder for them to maybe clean up their own backyard before giving advice on how others should keep theirs neat.
