PBS NewsHour sounded the alarm on Thursday, cautioning that President Trump might target political foes during a possible second term. Looks like the pot is calling the kettle black! Journalist Amna Nawaz made claims that Trump’s allies have baselessly accused the Biden administration of using the Department of Justice as a political weapon against Trump. What? Coming from the folks who had no problem investigating Trump, this is beyond ironic.
Journalist Laura Barron-Lopez chimed in, reminding us that Trump wanted political adversaries imprisoned during his 2016 campaign. But does she, or PBS, talk about the questionable handling of the Trump “hush money” case by lead prosecutor Matthew Colangelo, who conveniently had a top job in the Biden Justice Department beforehand? Not a peep from them about that!
PBS brings Ryan Goodman on board for a chat, an NYU Law professor and former special counsel at the Department of Defense. Who did he serve under? You guessed it! The Obama-Biden administration. But PBS conveniently left that tidbit out. Downplaying his potential bias, anyone?
Predictably, Goodman aired his concerns about Trump potentially abusing the Justice Department’s power if reelected. Going back to the well-worn theme of Trump attempting to have Hillary Clinton investigated by his attorney general, Jeff Sessions.
Then the conversation shifted towards Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, the man leading the charge in the Trump prosecution. Goodman tried to paint Bragg as a reluctant hero who had “no choice” but to charge Trump. It’s laughable, especially since Bragg’s predecessor, Cyrus Vance Jr., had examined the same evidence and decided not to pursue the case.
Barron-Lopez then poses a question about alleged threats against members of the judiciary, juries, and law enforcement. Between the lines, she insinuates that it’s all Trump’s fault. I guess we are meant to forget that these PBS correspondents regularly belittle the Supreme Court’s integrity, no?
In the end, an urgent question arises. Who is really weaponizing law enforcement and stripping our judicial systems? Politics work both ways, but PBS seems content with pointing the finger at one side only. Your move, America.
In summary, PBS’s blatant disregard for presenting a balanced view is the real threat here. The mainstream media continues to paint a narrative that suits their own interests, without providing the full, fair picture. It’s up to everyday Americans to see the truth and make informed decisions based on facts, not biased opinions.
