Tuesday brought triple guilty verdicts for Hunter Biden and CNN’s subsequent coverage seemed to paint the Biden family as sympathetic figures. It’s as if CNN expects us to view the Bidens as some kind of downtrodden monarchs; they seem particularly infatuated with the fact that First Lady Jill Biden made regular courtroom appearances.

Hunter Biden’s charges took a discouraging turn on CNN when the network’s Trump-campaign correspondent Kristen Holmes took the microphone. Discussing an initial statement released by the Trump camp (prior to its quick retraction), Holmes asserted that tons of Americans feel sympathy for the Biden clan – an idea that Donald Trump clearly doesn’t share.

During her broadcast, an excessive amount of her reporting focused on Trump’s lack of sympathy towards the Bidens, a topic she spoke on twice in an hour. According to Holmes, despite the fact that Trump himself had lost a brother to addiction, he displayed no compassion towards the Biden family during their tough times.

In such moments, CNN seizes the opportunity to bring in former Biden White House communications director, Kate Bedingfield – a loyal spin doctor – to score some points for the Bidens. Her involvement only hyped up Hunter’s “eloquence” and Joe’s family-focused rhetoric during the debates while blatantly omitting details such as Joe’s dismissal of the laptop scandal as “garbage.”

Clearly, any opinion favoring Biden gets full attention while conservative views are rare. Rather than bringing conflicting opinions, CNN invited Biden biographer Evan Osnos to recount Beau’s death and other sad Biden-family events, thereby framing a heartfelt story around Joe’s connection with the public.

It’s worth noting that the revelations from the trial confirmed the validity of the infamous Hunter laptop, a fact that many in the Biden camp, including Joe, some Democrats and media outlets, have continually lied about or tried to suppress, thereby losing a significant amount of credibility.

None of CNN’s talking heads dared to broach the question of why the Bidens thought it was a wise decision for Joe to run for the presidency amidst this messy ordeal involving drug use, adultery, and shady gun purchases.

In sum, CNN’s one-sided commentary highlighted the media’s bias and insistence on painting a sympathetic picture of the Bidens, even in the face of adverse circumstances such as Hunter Biden’s trial. Isn’t it high time we see some more balanced reporting in mainstream media?
