Stunned By The Swift Collapse Of CNN+, Chris Wallace Breaks Silence On What His Next Plans Are

Former Fox News anchor Chris Wallace is finally speaking out after the sudden collapse of the CNN+ streaming service that was launched to great fanfare just one month ago. It has been unclear what his future role will be with leftist news network once the platform is shut down.

Wallace speculated about his future on CNN during an event hosted by the Common Ground Committee this weekend. He fully admitted he does not have any new information to share about his role at the news network. He is even looking at the possibility of leaving CNN.

“I am going to be fine. I’m in good shape, whether it’s at CNN or someplace else. Frankly, what I’m mostly concerned about right now – and very – is my team and hundreds of other people.” Wallace said on the live-streamed event.

Wallace was hosting an interview show, “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?”, which is one of many programs that will no longer be produced when CNN+ shuts down on Saturday. Wallace, who has a $9 million a year deal with CNN, seemed more concerned right now of making sure his crew who worked on his program were able to keep their jobs at the network than his own well being.

“There were 300 people, I think, that had jobs at CNN+. Some of them had left CNN to go to streaming, some of them had left other places, moved across the country, and so I think you’re seeing a lot of the anchors at CNN+ doing everything they can to protect the people that were working on their team,” Wallace added.

Warner Brothers Discovery, who recently took over as new owners of CNN, has laid off about 300 CNN+ workers after the service showed horrific results and feel that a news streaming service is too niche to work. Wallace was one the most prominent names when he joined CNN+ after 18 years at Fox News.

“I have absolutely no idea which is right and which is wrong, but the Discovery people are in charge and so they’ve made the decision,” Wallace added.

Do you think that CNN+ was a doomed effort from the start? Did the new owners make the right decision to end the service because no one wanted to pay even more money to watch a biased left-leaning news network?
