Biden’s Education Secretary Miguel Cardona was speaking at the New Schools Summit 2022 and mentioned that it’s their job to “correct history and “control the narrative” in the classroom when discussing Anti-CRT bills pushed by Republicans.
“There are many who want to win political points by creating division in education. What I say to the folks on the call and educators across the country… Let’s remember who we serve. Let’s remember that education unites. Cardona was born in a housing project in Meriden, Connecticut to Puerto Rican parents.

It just made me hungrier.”
“It’s not lost on me, the significance of being the grandson of a tobacco farmer who came here for a better life, who despite having a second grade education was able to raise his family and create that upward mobility cycle,” he continued.
