Joe Biden acts like he supports black Americans. After all, he puts them in very important positions, based first and foremost on their skin color. Kamala Harris and Ketanji Brown Jackson are two of the most well-known people that Biden chose largely because they are black. So do regular black Americans support him?
Support from the black community for Joe Biden is weakening, although it remains high as far as demographics go, reports The Hill. A new poll by the Washington Post illustrates this. “The poll was conducted from April 21 to May 2 based on a random sample of 1,248 non-Hispanic Black adults and a partially overlapping sample of 977 adults. The margin of error is 3.5 percentage points,” said The Hill.
Black voters voted overwhelmingly for Joe Biden in the 2020 election. While black voters still support him, their support seems to be waning, according to a recent Washington Post-Ipsos poll. “The poll of about 1,250 Black Americans found that 70 percent approve of how Biden is handling his job, but only 23 percent “strongly approve.” The results may signal Black voters’ frustration with a lack of progress Biden and congressional Democrats have made on certain key issues as the midterm elections approach,” reports The Hill.
“[T]he number of respondents who said they think Biden is sympathetic to Black Americans’ problems dropped from 74 percent in 2020 to 66 percent. About 75 percent of those polled said Biden has done “a little” or “nothing” to reduce discrimination in the criminal justice system.”
The WaPo poll also indicates that black Americans aren’t as interested in voting as they were in 2020. “Only 62 percent said they would “absolutely” vote this year, compared to 85 percent in 2020,” reports The Hill.
You won’t believe what radical liberal parents took their kids to see
To say he’s been disappointing would be an understatement when talking about Joe Biden since he took office. Support for him in general is at an all-time low, so it’s no wonder that his support among black Americans is falling. The fact that he places people with black skin in places of power only goes so far to impress people, when they can’t find baby formula or afford to fill their gas tanks. Will black Americans get out and vote for Biden in 2024, if he runs?
