Twenty-nine House Republicans headed by GOP Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik have introduced a resolution to “expunge” the 2021 of President Donald Trump.
“Democrats used their second impeachment resolution to once again weaponize one of the most grave and consequential powers of the House,” Rep. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) said about the bill. “This was never about the Constitution; it was rooted in personal politics.”
Daily Beast reported on the attempt being spearheaded by Mullin. He introduced a very similar resolution after Trump’s first impeachment.
Stefanik signed onto the bill and recently said, “I am ultra-MAGA, and proud of it.”
“The American people know Democrats weaponized the power of impeachment against President Donald Trump to advance their own extreme political agenda.”
“President Donald Trump was rightfully acquitted, and it is past time to expunge Democrats’ sham smear against not only President Trump’s name, but against millions of patriots across the country,” wrote GOP House Conference Vice Chairman Mike Johnson
The resolution has very little chance of passing the Democrat-controlled House – especially with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in charge.
“Liberals couldn’t see through their blind rage long enough to follow parliamentary procedure, and instead barreled through Congress in order to have one more bite at the apple with President Trump,” said Mullin.
