Missouri AG Sues Biden Admin Over Social Media Censorship

In May, the Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt and Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry among others sued the Biden Administration for “allegedly colluding with social media giants” to censor opposing views on their platforms.

On May 6, Eric Schmitt spoke with Tucker Carlson about the lawsuits and his efforts to take on “two of the most powerful and corrupt institutions that are out there: big government and big tech.”

In the segment, the AG references that Psaki mentioned that the administration was flagging “misinformation” for Facebook and asking them to censor it.

The lawsuit alleges that Biden’s administration “pressured and colluded with social media giants” including Meta, Twitter, and YouTube to “censor free speech in the name of combating ‘disinformation’ and ‘misinformation,’ which led to the suppression and censorship of truthful information on several topics, including COVID-19.”

The lawsuit cites three examples: One was the New York Post article about Hunter Biden’s laptop, second were stories focusing on the Wuhan lab’s role in the pandemic, and third were stories doubting the effectiveness of masks.

“Missourians and Americans use social media platforms, which are now ubiquitous in our modern society, to discuss topics like the efficacy of masks and the veracity of the lab-leak theory,” Schmitt said in a press release. “In direct contravention to the First Amendment and freedom of speech, the Biden Administration has been engaged in a pernicious campaign to both pressure social media giants to censor and suppress speech and work directly with those platforms to achieve that censorship in a misguided and Orwellian campaign against ‘misinformation.'”

Their allegation contends that the government is encouraging censorship, which goes against our First Amendment rights.

The AG also previously said that the federal government is “outsourcing” their censorship to target political dissidents they do not like about his lawsuit.

Many Americans are rightfully upset about the censorship we have all witnessed. One of the most glaring examples was Hunter Biden’s “laptop from hell” which made national headlines after Twitter blocked it from being published right before the 2020 election. Do you believe that big tech censors conservatives in America? Let us know your thoughts.
