Fox News reporter Peter Doocy battled with White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre over the Biden Administration’s focus on selling Americans on buying pricey electric cars as a way to combat rising gas prices.
Doocy addressed KJP, “A lot of people can’t afford a $61,000 electric car and they are also having a hard time affording gas right now. That sounds like a painful transition.”
Watch her response.
“We are in a transition to clean energy…it’s going to create jobs,” KJP responded.
“Yeah but who can afford an electric car? The average price is $61,000! Is that the choice $5 per gallon gas or a $61,000 electric car?” Doocy asked her.
“That’s apples to oranges. It’s not the same,” she quipped back.
The average price for an electric vehicle is $56,437, according to Kelly Blue Book. That’s $10,000 more expensive than the industry average car purchase of $46,329. In addition, most people need to purchase a charging cable with installation for an average cost of $2,000.
Joe Biden Caught Using Cheat Sheet During Major Meeting
Unfortunately at this time, ev’s are still unaffordable for most Americans.
On Thursday, “The View” co-host Joy Behar asked White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre how to convince Americans that skyrocketing inflation and gas prices were not President Biden’s fault.
On Thursday, KJP spoke to the View’s Joy Behar who asked her about what Biden was doing to fight inflation.
“The case has been made that inflation is an intractable problem around the world. We talk about it here all the time, and not just in a crisis in the states but in the eyes of many voters, ‘the buck stops with the president,’ to paraphrase Harry Truman. But with the president’s handling of inflation and the economy hitting lows in recent polls, how do you make the case to voters that his economic policies are working, that it’s not his fault, that inflation is a worldwide problem, that the gas prices are not Joe Biden’s fault? How do you do that?” Behar asked the press secretary.
“When the president walked into the White House over a year ago, the economy was tanking, schools were closed, small businesses were shutting down,” she said, adding that the president needed to address issues relating to the pandemic. “Another thing he was able to do was pass the American Rescue Plan, his plan that only Democrats voted for and now you fast-forward to today, we do have some unique strengths, we do have a strong economy,” KJP responded.
She continued to say that the economy is in a transition – whatever that means – and “we’re going through that transition to be more in a stable, steady growth, and that’s how we believe we’ll be able to fight inflation.”
The Biden administration has failed to fight inflation. They’ve failed Americans at the gas pump. We can’t take much more failure in this country. Biden has showed that he is at war with American energy and it will not stop soon. Do you think Americans should be forced to get an ev? Have you driven an electric vehicle is it worth it? Let us know your thoughts.
