Nurse Resigns After Saying She Refused Prescribing Meds To White Male Conservatives

A nurse has now resigned after she posted that she was going to begin prescribing medications based on a patient’s political and religious beliefs. Her statement went viral after it was reposted by Libs of TikTok. The nurse has since been identified as a woman named Shawna Harris and resigned.

“A Sarah Bush Lincoln Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), who posted a discriminatory message on social media over the weekend, has resigned,” the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health (SBLH) Center in Lincoln, Illinois, said in a statement following backlash over the nurse’s tweet.

“I prescribe meds.. I can also choose not to prescribe them. So from now on.. if you are a white male who votes conservative, your penis needs to ask God for the power to rise. No more Viagra,” wrote Harris in her tweet.

SBLH responded to Libs of TikTok in a statement posted below the tweet and apologized for their nurse and promised to address the matter.

“This is not the practice of Sarah Bush Lincoln. We provide care to everyone regardless of gender, sexual orientation, race religious, etc. This is being addressed. Thank you for bringing it to our attention,” responded Sarah Bush Lincoln to Libs of Tik Tok.

The health center posted a full statement and their CEO Jerry Esker apologized for the nurse’s post.

Interestingly, the nurse actually doubled down on her statement afterwards.

“Bring it. I am allowed to prescribe based on need,” Harris said after her tweet got a lot of attention. “If you think God can provide, then why would I not allow for that? Conservative men rely on God to provide I think that is a wonderful idea. Let us pray…” she wrote.

The nurse has since resigned after the controversy.

“I allowed my personal feelings to spill out,” the nurse later said, according to SBLH. “Those hateful words are not aligned with how I have provided care to my patients. Sarah Bush Lincoln is a wonderful organization and my actions have tarnished its reputation. I have resigned and know my patients will be well cared for,” she wrote for her resignation.

It could have been a jest, but now the woman has lost her job. This is the kind of behavior that we see all the time from liberals. They really want to bring politics into everything. That really doesn’t sound fun, though. Would you have fired this woman if you were running the company? Let us know your thoughts.
