Dr. Fauci: “We Can’t Just “Put This Pandemic Behind Us”

On Tuesday, White House chief medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci told Fox News’ Neil Cavuto that we can’t put the “pandemic behind us” and also discussed the effectiveness of the jab.

Cavuto asked him about China’s reaction to the pandemic and spikes in cases here in America in the clip. Fauci then talked about his opinions on the pandemic coming into winter and the midterms.

Fauci also admitted that jab does not prevent infection in relation to his own bout with the virus.

“One of the things that’s clear from the data [is] that even though vaccines – because of the high degree of transmissibility of this virus – don’t protect overly well, as it were, against infection, they protect quite well against severe disease leading to hospitalization and death. And I believe that’s the reason, Neil, why at my age, being vaccinated and boosted, even though it didn’t protect me against infection, I feel confident that it made major role in protecting me from progressing to severe disease. And that’s very likely why I had a relatively mild course. So my message to people who seem confused because people who are vaccinated get infected – the answer is if you weren’t vaccinated, the likelihood [is] you would have had [a] more severe course than you did have when you were vaccinated,” said Fauci.

The doctor did make clear that the jab protected him from having a severe case of the disease. He expounded by saying that anyone infected by the Omicron variant would not be terribly protected by the new BA.5 variant being talked about now by the media. Fauci said that it “substantially evades” antibodies after getting the jab.

This comes at odds with what Fauci said years ago about the jab being “virtually 100% efficacious” at stopping transmission and saying to Congress that “real world effectiveness is even more impressive than the results of the clinical trial.”

During a White House briefing on Tuesday, Fauci said that the new variant is more transmissible and that we will just need to learn to live with the disease from here on out.

“Each successive variant has a bit of a transmission advantage over the prior one,” Fauci — the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and one of America’s top infectious disease experts — explained.

Those infected in the first waves “really don’t have a lot of good protection” against the newest variant, the doctor concluded

Fauci will be leaving soon from the White House and then Americans will not have to listen to his theories being paraded as facts. He has consistently been wrong about several key parts of this pandemic and mainly the response to it. He was the one advocating for shut downs and killing the machine of the American economy. He was wrong about that. Do you listen to Fauci anymore or is he old news?
