Former US Vice President Al Gore compared conservative leaning “climate deniers” to Uvalde police officers who stood by and watched 19 children get massacred by a mad gunman.

Gore was speaking to NBC News’s Chuck Todd when he made the wide reaching accusation about a large portion of the country.

“You know the climate deniers are really in some ways similar to all of those almost 400 law enforcement officers in Uvalde, Texas, who were waiting outside an unlocked door while the children were being massacred,” Gore said

The former VP then continued his accusations, adding, “They heard the screams, they heard the gunshots, and nobody stepped forward.” He added “God bless those families who suffered so much.”

Al Gore was making the comparison between Climate Change, which many scientists and liberal politicians claim will lead to mass death and destruction in the next 50 years if it isn’t stopped, to the massacre at Robb Elementary School.

At the shooting, over 400 police officers were reportedly on the scene, with many standing outside the classroom where the shooter was slowly picking off you children one-by-one for almost an hour before any took action. By the time they finally entered the room and killed the gunman, most of the kids were already dead.

“Confronted with this global emergency, what we’re doing with our inaction, and failing to walk through the door, and stop the killing, is not typical of what we are capable of as human beings,” Gore said.

“We do have the solutions, and I think these extreme events that are getting steadily worse and more severe are really beginning to change minds. We have to have unity as a nation, to come together and stop making this a political football. It shouldn’t be a partisan issue,” Gore told the host. “We have to have unify as a nation to come together and stop making this a political football.”

Gore, a Nobel Prize Winner, had headed the fight against global climate change since releasing his hit 2006 film “An Inconvenient Truth.” Since the film’s release, the world has seen a huge increased interest in addressing climate change. Despite this, many politicians still take up the issue as a so-called “political football”, using it to round up votes while taking little to no meaningful action to stop it.
