On Friday, White House Virus Response Coordinator Ashisha Jha updated the press on President Joe Biden’s condition and seemed to indicate that he is having trouble finishing meals without saying as much.

“He slept well last night. He ate his breakfast and lunch fully,” Jha said at a White House press briefing. “He actually showed me his plate!” He exclaimed the last part to laughter as if it was a huge accomplishment of the president’s.

Jha and White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre were then questioned about the President’s diet, but neither could answer much about it.

“Didn’t ask about the menu, but I did see an empty plate with crumbs,” Jha stated, followed by Jean-Pierre exclaiming, “He did, yeah.”

“President Biden completed his first full day of PAXLOVID last night.  His symptoms have improved.  He did mount a temperature yesterday evening to 99.4 degrees Fahrenheit, which responded favorably to…TYLENOL.  His temperature has remained normal since then.  His symptoms remain characterized as…runny nose and fatigue, with an occasional non-productive, now “loose” cough.  His voice is deeper this morning.  His pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate and oxygen saturation remain entirely normal, on room air,” explained Karine Jean-Pierre

People online immediately made fun of Biden over the comments saying that he sounds likes a toddler.

“Joe Biden took his nap and ate his food like a big boy,” one person tweeted. “He even showed his handlers that he made a happy plate!!”

“Has there ever been an official statement that makes an American President sound weaker than the White House doctor saying Biden, ‘cleaned his plate’ and held it up to show him?” political commentator Tim Young said.

The White House viral expert then advised Americans to get boosted to protect themselves.

“This is a really good time to go and get a shot,” he said.

According to the White House doctor, Biden is recovering from mild symptoms, including a runny nose and tiredness. He is taking Paxlovid, Pfizer’s anti-viral, and is responding well to the medication.

He is continuing to work while isolating and tweeted out on Thursday that he was feeling great.

His physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor said that Biden had a fever on Thursday but is doing fine.

He “will respond favourably [to the medication], as most maximally protected patients do,” O’Connor said. “There has been nothing in the course of his illness so far which gives me cause to alter that initial expectation.”

Dr. Anthony Fauci, head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said he expects Biden to recover “very well.”

“[Mr Biden] is generally a healthy person. He has been vaccinated and boosted twice… and is feeling well enough to perform duties from the White House,” Dr Fauci added.
