Following former president Donald Trump’s social media attack on him, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis dismissed speculation about a GOP civil war. As he spoke, DeSantis avoided talking about the 2024 election, telling reporters to “chill out.”

The remarks came in response to a question about recovery efforts following Hurricane Ian.

DeSantis concluded by saying he was focused on what more he could do to make his state the best in the country.

On Truth Social, Trump criticized DeSantis and claimed he was primarily responsible for the success of the Florida governor after the midterm elections in 2022. The president implied that DeSantis is indebted to him and shouldn’t run against him in 2024.

As for Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, she’s not worried about a GOP civil war. During a podcast interview with former Trump adviser Steve Bannon, Greene said, “We’re going to fight it out.”
