New Poll Reveals Americans Not Falling for Electric Car Propaganda!

A recently released poll about electric vehicle future purchases will give climate scammers a heart attack. Are you one of the Americans planning to give these environmentalists a heart attack with your next vehicle choice?

In recent years, various states have set out to achieve 100 percent usage of electric vehicles, coercing people into buying them for the betterment of the environment. The Associated Press and the National Opinion Research Center conducted a poll between Jan. 31-Feb. 15 with 5,400 respondents, which revealed that a paltry 19% of Americans were “extremely likely” or “very likely” to switch to electric vehicles for their next car.

The study came to the fore despite new rules announced by California Air Resources Board in 2020 mandating that 35% of new vehicles sold will be zero-emissions cars by 2026, a bar that would rise to 68% by 2030 and reach a 100% benchmark by 2035.

The majority of poll respondents stated that high costs of electric vehicles were a major deterrent, with a lack of charging stations for the cars and personal preference for gas-fueled cars being secondary. Concerns about charging times and a lack of faith in current battery technology also played a pivotal role in developing the reluctance of the electorate to purchase electric vehicles.

Interestingly, those respondents who were in favor of buying electric cars cited reduction in fuel costs, government tax benefits, and decreased climate impact as primary motives.

AP-NORC Center Deputy Director Jennifer Benz said in a statement, “While there is plenty of interest in purchasing an electric vehicle, the high upfront cost of owning one and concerns about the country’s charging infrastructure are barriers to more people driving them. Policies that alleviate these concerns will be a key component of building support.”

Nevertheless, researchers have noted that California’s and other states’ power grids are not yet equipped to handle increased electric vehicle usage. As a result of a heat wave that threatened to overwhelm the grid last summer, California officials asked residents not to charge their electric cars.

California Air Resources Board regulations will require heavy duty truck manufacturers to enact increasingly strict standards to encourage electric vehicles, such that 100% of new truck sales will be zero-emission by 2045. EPA granted the state two waivers last month so it can enforce federal standards.

PragerU went around in California challenging people’s belief of zero emission and let’s just say, some people sang a different tune on the matter afterwards.

State governments have been trying to promote electric vehicles as a means to reduce emissions and mitigate climate change. Forgetting that in a capitalistic society the government does not control products. People vote with their money and it’s obvious, the majority of reasonable Americans will not be forced to vote with their hard earned money. Nor will they waste their time on something as time consuming as EV. People would rather gas up in 5 minutes than charge in 45 mins.

Let’s continue this conversation, in the comments below.

  • In the last two weeks, took delivery on a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse (all gasoline) and put a deposit on a 2024 Chevrolet Trax (all gasoline). No charging stations required and no waiting.

  • Most don't buy the Biden propaganda because simple research shows just how "not ready for prime time" these vehicles are. The batteries for them are built with materials the communist Chinese control and you can't do interstate travel because your trip will be extended by days at charging stations. Then there's that fire hazard you risk by super charging lithium-ion batteries.

  • When fire depts waste 25000 gallons of water trying to put out an ev fire- they aren't actually extinguishing the fire- they're just spraying water on it so it looks like they're doing something.

When a lithium battery goes into meltdown it cannot be put out, it has to burn up all it's fuel first.

  • EVs are not zero-emissions cars. They are powered by natural gas and coal primarily. Just because it doesn't have a tail pipe doesn't mean it doesn't pollute. Electricity is not a very efficient energy source. The power station generators are at best 65% efficient. The transmissions lines add another 10% and finally those Lipo batteries are at best 80% efficient.

    • You are 100% correct in that EV's are not zero-emissions cars. However, electricity is, in and of itself, a very efficient source of power when properly utilized.

I don't know how much you know about the goings-on between Edison and Tesla, but there was at one time a conflict of sorts between what way was the best way to transmit electrical power to people, with Edison favoring DC and Tesla being the AC champion. Tesla eventually won the battle, obviously and unfortunately. At least, on the surface.

You see, at the end of the day, BOTH Edison and Tesla were right. And we live with the eternal consequences of their competition rather than cooperation every day of our lives. AC power IS preferable for transmitting over long distances. And in that way, Tesla was correct. However, at the individual level, nearly everything runs on DC power, from your television to your cell phone to your LED light bulbs.

So the IDEAL power transmission system, and the most EFFICIENT, would be for AC power lines to be run to converter stations in each city, and DC power would be delivered to homes, eliminating the necessity for every single electronic device on earth to have a transformer to reduce the voltage to a usable level (hint) and a rectifier to convert the AC to DC for use in the electronics or whatever.

However, we don't have a hybrid system today, we have AC everywhere (sigh) and every electrical object on earth converts AC to DC. It's a bit of a ridiculous system, if you think about it. The number of AC to DC converters present on this planet at this point must be STAGGERING, in the hundreds of billions of not trillions. THERE is where electricity loses its efficiency.

If you eliminate what I call the "current system of idiocy" and adopt a true hybrid system, the efficiency of our electric grid in total would increase by probably 20% or more. Running 110 volts to systems that require 12v and 5v dc is moronic. It is akin to running a 3" water supply line to a drinking fountain.

  • There is one point that I have never heard mentioned. Do we add new zero emission energy production, when each these EV's are purchased? If not, then100% of the new energy required, to charge these vehicles, HAS to come from coal and gas, not the 60% mentioned. That green energy was already being used. We don't ramp up the hydro production, speed up the wind, for the wind farms and plop out a bunch of new solar panels or make the sun "sunnier" for those panels. The power is then degraded, thru transport over power lines. The ramp up has to come from coal and gas power plants or not at all. Then you over tax or under power the power grid anyway and end up with rolling blackouts.

  • First of all getting rid of CO2 is harmful to our planet. The plants can't give us oxygen if you starve them to death. And at present, the plants are losing the war. There is not enough CO2 on the planet just to sustain the plant life we have. 6th grade Earth Sciences people. DUH

  • AMEN. The #$@#!! Thunbergs can take their glorified golf carts and stick 'em far up where the solar energy can't shine. I'll give up my conventional SUVs the day they can pluck the keys from my cold, dead fingers.

  • Who's the idiot that downvoted that?

Facts are a bitch, and the bolsheviks are responsible for the cancer called communism.
