Parental Rights Under Fire: Biden’s Education Secretary Trusts Teachers, Not Moms and Dads!

It seems like the Biden administration can’t refrain from meddling in the personal affairs of American families, particularly when it comes to children’s education. The latest debacle involves Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona, who believes that teachers know what’s best for kids and should be trusted blindly. Such a statement is a misguided attempt to discredit the importance of parental involvement and input in the education of their children. It’s not just Cardona; White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre also made controversial statements about children belonging to everyone in the political fight over gender-affirming care. It’s clear that the Biden administration has a significant blind spot when it comes to respecting parental rights and child welfare.

The Biden administration has once again demonstrated its blatant disregard for the opinions and beliefs of parents. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona recently tweeted from his official account that “Teachers know what is best for their kids because they are with them every day” and “We must trust teachers.” This is yet another example of the Left’s efforts to diminish the role of parents in their children’s lives and delegate decision-making to government officials.

The contempt that the Left has for parents is not limited to Cardona’s tweet. Earlier this month, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre made controversial remarks on the red carpet for the GLAAD awards. She claimed that “these are our kids” and “they belong to all of us.” This is an affront to the very definition of family and the traditional values that have served as the bedrock of our society for centuries.

It is also worth noting that Cardona and Jean-Pierre’s comments have been met with widespread condemnation. Cardona, in particular, has faced a massive backlash over Twitter, with many users expressing their opposition to his stance and calling for his resignation.

As of Wednesday morning, Cardona’s tweet has been viewed 7.6 million times, with nearly 3,700 quoted retweets. There are also over 18,000 replies from users who are outraged by the Left’s attempts to usurp the role of parents.

By this, it is clear that the Biden administration is out of touch with the needs and desires of parents.

Parents should never be shut out of decisions that concern their children’s welfare, and it’s a shame that the current White House doesn’t seem to understand this. Secretary Cardona’s tweet about trusting teachers over parents is not only insulting but also shows a fundamental disconnect with reality. Teachers do not have the full picture of a child’s needs, desires, and dreams. Parents do. The Biden administration must learn that the government’s role should be to support families, not replace them when it comes to raising and caring for children.
