Wisconsin Legislature Takes a Stand in Preserving the Traditional Use of Gas-Powered Vehicles

The Wisconsin Senate has taken a bold step to protect access to our beloved gas-powered vehicles, snow blowers, lawnmowers, and other machines. The Republican-controlled Assembly passed measures in April, with all Democrats opposing, in an effort to preserve our way of life. Now, it is up to Democratic Gov. Tony Evers to show where he stands on the matter.

The bills aim to counteract dangerous measures like the California statute passed last year, which would force all new cars, trucks, and SUVs sold in the state to run on electricity or hydrogen by 2035. This is an attack on our way of life and freedom of choice. Democrats have said they wouldn’t push for a gas-engine ban in Wisconsin, but their track record suggests otherwise. They have a history of imposing excessive regulations that harm struggling families and small businesses.

Thankfully, we have strong leaders in Wisconsin who are willing to fight against the radical environmental agenda. The state chamber of commerce and energy companies are among those who recognize the importance of protecting our access to natural gas and other sources of reliable power. The legislature has passed a bill that would prevent state and local governments from limiting utility service, ensuring that our energy needs are met without interference from radical activists.

This is a crucial step in maintaining our quality of life and ensuring that we have access to affordable and reliable energy resources. Other states like New York have already begun to ban natural gas stoves and furnaces in most new buildings starting in 2026. We cannot allow Wisconsin to follow in their footsteps and impose draconian rules on our citizens.

The environmental group Wisconsin Conservation Voters may claim that this is a “solution in search of a problem,” but the truth is that environmental extremists are constantly scheming to limit our freedoms and force us to live in a world without modern conveniences. We need to stand up to these radicals and protect our right to choose the energy sources that work best for us.

In closing, we call on Gov. Evers to show his support for Wisconsin families and small businesses by signing these bills into law. Anything less would be a betrayal of our values and a surrender to the radical environmental agenda. Wisconsinites deserve better than that.
