In the latest liberal attempt to cancel all forms of fun, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, or PETA, has written a letter to one beloved toy company, Lego. And they are attacking one of the all time favorite sets.
“In a letter to Niels Christiansen, chief executive of the Lego Group, Mimi Bekhechi from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, wrote: ‘Animal farming is a bloody, cruel business and, in 2022, no firm should be promoting it, especially to children.’ She said ‘pastoral scenes’ obscured the truth about chickens which are kept in cages, pigs in cramped pens and cows being sent to the abattoir,” reports the Daily Mail.
Yes, who could do something so cruel as to let a child play with that?
PETA UK tweeted, “The new farm set from @LEGO_Group looks nothing like a real farm and is a misleading depiction of animal agriculture. Lego, be real and promote compassion by rebranding the toy set to an animal sanctuary.”
Kids have been playing with Lego or Duplo farm sets since 1979. Now, PETA insists that Lego rebrand its popular and long-standing toy as an “animal sanctuary.” While Lego hasn’t responded to PETA’s demand, Neil Shand, chief executive of the National Beef Association, has. He said: “This is misleading message from Peta. We have a responsibility to teach children where their food comes from through farm toys,” reports the Daily Mail. “Frank Furedi, emeritus professor of sociology at the University of Kent, said: ‘This letter is taking something natural and innocent, like children’s interest in farm animals, and turning it into something malevolent.’”

That’s exactly what the radical leftists do these days: take innocent things and twist them into something unrecognizable. Small children love farm animals and there is nothing wrong with labeling Lego’s toy as a “farm.” Do you think Lego will cave and rename its toy and “animal sanctuary?”
