The rumors were everywhere recently, that Disney was prepared to offer Johnny Depp over $300 million to play Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean 6. We all wanted to believe it. Here’s what Johnny Depp said about all the rumors.

The rumors went something like this: “Disney is very interested in patching up their relationship with Johnny Depp,” a source told Australia’s PopTopic “They are very hopeful that Johnny will forgive them and return as his iconic character.”

Sadly, one of Depp’s representatives has told NBC News “This is made up.”

Depp indeed made it pretty clear he would not work with Disney again because they basically declared him to be guilty until proven innocent concerning Amber Heard’s allegations of abuse against him. He has testified under oath that he would not take another Pirates of the Caribbean franchise role for $300 million and a million alpacas?

During the trial, Ben Rottenborn, one of Amber Heard’s lawyers, asked the actor, “The fact is, Mr. Depp if Disney came to you with $300 million and a million alpacas, nothing on this earth would get you to go back and work with Disney on a Pirates of the Caribbean film? Correct?”

Depp replied, “That is true, Mr. Rottenborn.”

Those are some pretty strong words, especially the part about the alpacas. He sounded serious and it seems at least for now, he is.

However, “Depp is set to join his Hollywood Vampires bandmates—classic rock icons Alice Cooper, Joe Perry and Tommy Henriksen—for an overseas tour next year,” reports E! News.

That’s nice, but it’s just not the same. While we can all respect Depp’s decision not to work with Disney again, it’s still hard for Pirates fans to accept. Do you think there’s anything that could get Johnny to reprise the role?
