A phone number registered to a fraudulent Minnesota daycare center that received over one million dollars in state funding connects directly to Governor Tim Walz's office, according to a bombshell investigation that has now reached 93 million views and triggered federal scrutiny.
The discovery emerged after citizen journalist Nick Shirley visited 50 daycare facilities across Minneapolis, documenting empty building after empty building—morning, afternoon, and night—despite each location pulling in approximately $2.5 million annually in state childcare assistance funds.
When investigators called the phone number listed on the business registration for Sweet Angel Childcare, one of the suspected fraudulent operations, the call connected to the sitting governor's office.
Federal Officials Call It 'Largest Theft in U.S. History'
Homeland Security Advisor Stephen Miller has publicly accused Minnesota's state government of being "one hundred percent complicit" in what he describes as the largest theft of taxpayer funds in American history.
"This is not a pundit on cable news. This is someone inside the national security apparatus making that charge," reported Gary Franchi of Next News Network, who has been tracking the scandal.
The investigation has revealed direct ties between convicted fraudsters from the related Feeding Our Future scheme and top Minnesota Democrats, including Walz, Representative Ilhan Omar, Secretary of State Steve Simon, and Senator Tina Smith.
Whistleblowers Ignored for Over a Decade
Perhaps most damning: whistleblowers flagged $100 million in questionable spending twelve years ago. No one was fired. No one was prosecuted. When COVID-19 hit and oversight mechanisms were relaxed, the fraud exploded to unprecedented levels.
The Quality Learning Center alone was investigated more than a dozen times, accumulated 95 violations, yet still received over $8 million in funding—suggesting systemic protection from within the government.
Senator Ron Johnson has declared this scandal "just the tip of the iceberg," while Congressman James Comer is demanding Minnesota officials testify under oath. Elon Musk characterized the scheme as "industrial scale fraud."
Investigation Spreads Beyond Minnesota
The probe has now expanded to Michigan, where House Republicans have uncovered an additional $5 billion fraud scheme involving more than 4,000 phantom jobs allegedly created to launder funds.
Six additional individuals have been charged in connection with the Minnesota fraud. Reports indicate that after Shirley's video went viral, some suspect daycare facilities began trucking children in to create the appearance of legitimate operations.
Governor Walz has responded by labeling investigators "white supremacists," and police were called on Shirley simply for asking questions—tactics critics say reveal an administration in full panic mode rather than one committed to accountability.
