Police officers responding to a domestic dispute call in Wilmington, Delaware found Linda Stevenson, 64, dead Sunday night at the home of Bill Stevenson, the ex-husband of former First Lady Jill Biden.

According to the New Castle County Police Department, officers arrived at approximately 11:16 p.m. and discovered Mrs. Stevenson unresponsive in the living room. Despite administering life-saving measures, she was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident has drawn attention on social media, with users tracking the developing story. Twitter user @JenniferCu61904 shared coverage of the investigation, posting "Police investigate death of woman linked to Jill Biden's ex-husband" with accompanying video coverage.

Bill Stevenson was previously married to Jill Biden from 1970 to 1975, before her marriage to then-Senator Joe Biden in 1977. Stevenson has been vocal in past interviews about his relationship with the former First Lady and has made public statements about their marriage and divorce.

The death investigation has prompted some confusion in media coverage, with one social media user correcting reporting errors. @Stealers tweeted, "Police investigate death of Jill Biden's ex's wife... Hey you guys at The Mirror, it's about her ex-husband's wife. She was never married to a woman," highlighting inaccurate headlines from some outlets.

Detectives with the NCCPD's Criminal Investigations Unit are handling the case. Police have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding Mrs. Stevenson's death or the nature of the domestic dispute call that brought officers to the residence.

This tragic incident comes as the Biden family has largely retreated from public life following President Trump's return to the White House. The former president and Jill Biden have maintained a low profile since leaving Washington in January.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not indicated whether any charges will be filed in connection with the incident.

Domestic violence is a serious issue that affects families across all political lines. We need to focus on supporting victims and their families rather than making this political.

As someone who has worked with domestic violence survivors, this breaks my heart. The system often fails to protect women in these situations.

What exactly happened here? The details seem pretty sparse in this reporting.

This administration talks about protecting women but look at the violence surrounding their own circles. We need real leadership that prioritizes family safety.

That's a fair point about consistency in messaging versus reality.

Will the mainstream media even cover this story properly? Seems like anything connected to this administration gets buried.

Good point. Double standards in coverage are real.
