CIA turncoat Aldrich Ames, the treasonous double agent who sold out American intelligence assets to Russia in one of the most devastating betrayals in U.S. history, has died in a Maryland federal prison at age 84. Good riddance.

The former CIA case officer, who spent over two decades rotting behind bars for his crimes against America, finally met his maker after causing immeasurable damage to our national security and getting fellow Americans killed through his treachery.

Social media users were quick to note the significance of this scumbag's death. As @TND reported on Twitter: "CIA turncoat Aldrich Ames, who betrayed Western intelligence assets to the Soviet Union and Russia in one of the most damaging intelligence breaches in U.S. history, has died in a Maryland prison. He was 84."

"His actions constituted one of the most damaging intelligence breaches in U.S. history," noted @InfactoWeaver, highlighting the scope of Ames' betrayal.

For nearly a decade in the 1980s and early 1990s, this piece of human garbage sold America's most sensitive secrets to Moscow for over $4 million. His treachery led to the execution of at least 10 Western intelligence sources and compromised countless operations against the Soviet Union during the final years of the Cold War.

The fact that this traitor lived to be 84 while the brave Americans and allied assets he sold out to the Russians were tortured and murdered is a travesty of justice. Ames should have faced the death penalty for treason, not been allowed to live out his days in relative comfort on the taxpayers' dime.

This is exactly why President Trump's strong stance against Deep State corruption and foreign infiltration is so crucial. How many more Aldrich Ames types are still lurking in our intelligence agencies, ready to sell out America for a few pieces of silver?

As Trump's new CIA Director John Ratcliffe and DNI Tulsi Gabbard take charge of cleaning house in our intelligence community, let Ames' pathetic death serve as a reminder: America will not tolerate traitors, and justice will eventually catch up to those who betray our great nation.

This reminds us why we need to be so careful about who gets security clearances. The vetting process clearly failed with this guy and probably others we don't know about yet.

Good riddance is right! I remember when this story broke in the 90s - absolutely sickening that someone in such a trusted position would sell out his own country for money.

Finally! This traitor should have faced the firing squad decades ago instead of living off taxpayer money in prison. The damage he did to our national security and the agents who died because of him... unforgivable.

Agreed 100%. Death penalty should be mandatory for treason, especially when it gets our people killed.

My father worked for the Agency during the Cold War and always said Ames was the worst kind of traitor - one who betrayed people who trusted him with their lives.

How many CIA assets did this scumbag get killed? Does anyone have the exact numbers?

At least 10 Soviet agents working for the US were executed because of information Ames provided. Probably more we don't know about.
