SOCIALIST TAKEOVER: Minneapolis City Council Installs Democratic Socialists as BOTH Majority AND Minority Leaders

The radical left has officially gone full authoritarian in Minneapolis, where progressive city council members just pulled off what can only be described as a socialist coup during their first meeting of 2026.

In a move that would make Stalin proud, Democratic socialists now hold BOTH the "majority leader" and "minority leader" positions on the Minneapolis City Council—effectively creating a one-party state designed to silence any moderate voices that might dare challenge their extremist agenda.

This isn't just political theater, folks. This is the complete elimination of opposition representation in what's supposed to be a democratic process. When socialists control both sides of the aisle, who exactly is representing the taxpayers who don't want their city turned into a dystopian nightmare?

Patriots Sound the Alarm on Social Media

Americans across the country are watching this socialist power grab with horror. Conservative voices on social media are calling out this authoritarian move for what it is.

"Minneapolis is doomed! When the dust settled, progressive members had been chosen to chair almost all the council's policy-making committees, and democratic socialists occupied half the spots on an expanded leadership team," posted @BattleofWolf359 on social media.

That's right—it gets worse. Not only did these radicals rig the leadership positions, but they also stacked virtually every policy-making committee with their socialist allies. This is a complete takeover of Minneapolis city government by the far-left.

The Death of Democratic Representation

What we're witnessing in Minneapolis is exactly what happens when radicals gain power—they immediately move to eliminate any opposition and concentrate control in their own hands. The moderate minority on the council has been completely iced out, their voices silenced by this coordinated power grab.

This is the same playbook we've seen from socialist regimes throughout history: eliminate opposition, control the narrative, and rule with an iron fist.

While President Trump works to restore sanity to our federal government, cities like Minneapolis are doubling down on the same failed progressive policies that have already turned once-great American cities into crime-ridden wastelands. How long will the people of Minneapolis tolerate this authoritarian takeover of their local government?

How is this even legal? Having socialists in both majority AND minority leadership positions seems like a complete breakdown of the democratic process.

I've lived here for 15 years and watched this city go downhill fast. My property taxes have skyrocketed while basic services get worse every year. Time to move to the suburbs.

Made that move 3 years ago, best decision ever. Welcome to join us out here!

Can someone explain how they managed to get socialists in both leadership roles? Isn't the minority leader supposed to be from the actual minority party?

It's because the Democratic Socialists now have enough seats to control both positions within the overall Democratic majority.

Moved here from Texas for work and I'm shocked at how far left this city has gone. Makes me appreciate where I came from even more.

This is exactly what happens when people don't pay attention to local elections! Minneapolis voters are getting exactly what they voted for.

Couldn't agree more. Local elections have consequences that hit your wallet directly.

As someone who runs a small business in the Twin Cities, this terrifies me. These policies are going to drive even more companies out of Minneapolis.

This should be a wake-up call for every conservative in Minnesota. We need to start organizing NOW for the next election cycle.

WAKE UP AMERICA! This is how it starts - one city at a time until they control everything.
