Two suspects shot by U.S. Border Patrol agents in Portland this week have been confirmed as affiliates of the notorious Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, according to the Department of Homeland Security. The revelation underscores the deadly consequences of years of open border policies that allowed violent criminal organizations to infiltrate American communities.
The shooting occurred when the suspects "weaponized" their vehicle against a Portland-based CBP agent, forcing officers to defend themselves with lethal force. DHS identified the driver as Luis David Nico Moncada, described as a "criminal illegal alien" with ties to the violent gang that has terrorized communities across South America and now operates on American soil.
Gang Violence Comes to American Streets
Tren de Aragua has become synonymous with brutal violence, human trafficking, and organized crime throughout Latin America. Now, thanks to the previous administration's catastrophic border policies, these dangerous criminals are bringing their reign of terror directly to American neighborhoods.
Social media erupted with reactions to the incident. The Lynnwood Times reported: "More details released in the Jan 8th CBP shooting in Portland of two suspected Tren de Aragua gang associates who alleged attempted to hit federal agents with a vehicle."
But predictably, radical Democrats are more concerned with protecting criminal gang members than American citizens. Rep. Chuy Garcia shamefully attacked the CBP agents who defended themselves, tweeting: "Trump's immigration enforcement has brought nothing but terror and violence into our communities."
"This administration—and the DHS agents carrying out these abuses—must be held accountable," Garcia continued, apparently believing federal agents should allow themselves to be run down by gang members.
This is the twisted logic of the modern Democrat Party – criminal gang members who attempt to murder federal agents are the victims, while the brave men and women protecting our communities are the villains.
America First Enforcement in Action
Under President Trump's restored leadership, federal agents are finally empowered to protect themselves and American communities from the violent criminals who flooded across our border. This incident proves exactly why mass deportation isn't just policy – it's a matter of life and death for law enforcement and innocent Americans.
How many more CBP agents must be attacked by foreign gang members before Democrats stop defending criminals over the safety of American communities?
