Democrat lawmakers are raising concerns that President Trump's military action in Venezuela could provide China with the perfect excuse to justify an invasion of Taiwan, highlighting the complex chess game America faces against the Communist regime.

Rep. Gregory Meeks, the ranking Democrat on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, warned that Beijing is watching closely and could exploit U.S. operations in Venezuela to legitimize their own aggression toward the democratic island nation. The warning comes as lawmakers debate whether America's actions set a dangerous precedent that Xi Jinping could twist for his own purposes.

Social media erupted with debate over the implications. Fox News Politics reported on Twitter: "TAIWAN FEARS: Rep. Gregory Meeks warns China could exploit U.S. military action in Venezuela to justify aggression toward Taiwan, as lawmakers clash over whether the operations are comparable."

"China sees opportunity to justify Taiwan aggression by pointing to U.S. military action in Venezuela," breaking news accounts reported, as the House Foreign Affairs Committee engaged in urgent debate over the national security implications.

But here's what the establishment won't tell you: China doesn't need America's permission or precedent to threaten Taiwan. The Communist Party has been planning Taiwan's conquest for decades, regardless of what happens in Venezuela. Xi Jinping's regime operates by different rules – they respect strength, not international law or diplomatic niceties.

The real question Patriots should be asking is whether America will stand strong against both threats simultaneously. Venezuela's socialist dictator Maduro has been a puppet of China, Iran, and Russia for years. Cleaning house in our own backyard while preparing to defend Taiwan isn't contradictory – it's strategic.

Trump Administration Faces Two-Front Challenge

President Trump now faces the delicate task of projecting strength globally while Democrats and establishment Republicans wring their hands about "optics." The America First agenda means protecting our hemisphere from communist influence AND standing with democratic allies like Taiwan.

Will Trump's team navigate this challenge while keeping China in check? The next few weeks could define America's position on the world stage for years to come.

What's the Biden admin's actual plan here? Are we supposed to ignore Venezuela's problems or risk World War 3?

That's the million dollar question. This administration has no coherent foreign policy strategy.

At least some Democrats are thinking strategically instead of just reacting emotionally to every crisis.

Rare moment of bipartisan common sense on foreign policy. We need more of this.

Taiwan's semiconductor industry alone makes this a national security issue. We cannot let Xi use our actions as pretext.

This is exactly what China wants - America overextended globally while they consolidate power in their backyard.

I work in defense and can tell you our Pacific fleet is already stretched thin. Last thing we need is giving China justification for aggression while we're potentially tied up in another operation.

Finally some Democrats showing they understand geopolitics! Xi has been waiting for ANY excuse to make his move on Taiwan.

Broken clock is right twice a day. Even they can see this is dangerous precedent.

Why are we even considering military action in Venezuela when our own border is a mess?

Served two tours in the Pacific. Taiwan is absolutely critical to our defense strategy and China knows it.
