Trump's legal team has filed a motion seeking nearly $6.3 million from Fulton County to reimburse the president's criminal defense expenses in what has become one of the most embarrassing prosecutorial failures in Georgia history. The move comes under a new Georgia law that allows compensation for defendants in cases where prosecutors engage in misconduct.

This couldn't happen to a more deserving swamp creature. Willis, who was disqualified from the case in 2024 amid a massive scandal involving her romantic relationship with prosecutor Nathan Wade, turned what should have been an impartial legal proceeding into a circus of corruption and incompetence.

Taxpayers Left Holding the Bag
The real tragedy here is that hardworking Fulton County taxpayers will likely be forced to pay for Willis' politically motivated vendetta. Trump's attorney Steve Sadow acknowledges this injustice, with @PGranacher reporting that Sadow "empathizes with Fulton County taxpayers but believes Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is to blame because he believes she pursued the case to advance her career."
That's exactly what happened. Willis saw an opportunity to make a name for herself by going after Trump, damn the facts and damn the taxpayers who would foot the bill for her ambition.
This is what happens when partisan prosecutors think they can use lawfare to take down political opponents. Willis joins the growing list of Democrat officials who discovered that weaponizing the justice system against Trump tends to backfire spectacularly. Will other rogue prosecutors learn from her expensive mistake, or are they too blinded by Trump Derangement Syndrome to see the writing on the wall?
