Another radical socialist is making a play for federal power, and this time she's promising to bring her anti-American agenda straight to the halls of Congress.
New York State Assemblywoman Claire Valdez, a Democratic Socialist and close ally of NYC's far-left Mayor Zohran Mamdani, has officially launched her bid for the U.S. House of Representatives. But her campaign promises should terrify every patriotic American who values our constitutional republic.
The 36-year-old former union organizer isn't hiding her radical intentions. According to social media reports, Valdez is promising to usher in "a golden age" of labor organizing while simultaneously vowing to fight against what she calls "regime change" in Venezuela – effectively siding with the brutal Maduro dictatorship over American foreign policy interests.
"I came to politics through low-wage jobs and the labor movement," Valdez stated, making clear her socialist credentials from day one.
This is exactly what happens when radical ideologues gain a foothold in local politics – they inevitably set their sights on federal power to impose their dangerous vision on the entire nation.
Political observers are already noting the socialist connections at play. As one Twitter user pointed out, Valdez's campaign is "staffed by Mamdani's consigliere" Morris Katz, who is now "wading into a second New York City congressional primary" – suggesting a coordinated effort by the Democratic Socialist machine to expand their influence in Congress.
While President Trump works to restore America First policies and strengthen our nation's sovereignty, radicals like Valdez want to fundamentally transform our economic system and abandon American leadership on the world stage.
The question isn't whether Valdez represents the future of the Democratic Party – she clearly does. The real question is whether patriotic Americans will wake up to the socialist threat growing in their own backyard before it's too late.
New Yorkers deserve representatives who put America first, not socialist ideologues who promise "golden ages" of radical transformation. Will they reject this dangerous agenda, or will another anti-American socialist gain a platform to attack our values from within?
