ANTI-TRUMP Resistance ERUPTS: DC Council Demands Police SEVER ICE Ties After Minneapolis Shooting

The radical left's resistance to President Trump's immigration enforcement agenda exploded onto Washington D.C. streets Thursday night, as anti-ICE demonstrators marched through the nation's capital demanding local authorities abandon cooperation with federal immigration officers.

The protests, sparked by a fatal shooting involving an ICE officer in Minneapolis, represent the opening salvo in what promises to be an all-out war between Trump's deportation machine and Democrat-controlled sanctuary jurisdictions across America.

D.C. Council members wasted no time exploiting the tragedy, calling on Mayor Muriel Bowser and the Metropolitan Police Department to completely sever ties with Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The demand comes just weeks into Trump's second term, as his administration ramps up the largest deportation operation in U.S. history.

"Protesters marched through D.C. on Thursday, calling for accountability from the Trump administration amid ICE-related shootings in Minneapolis and Portland," Fox 5 DC reported on social media.

But while leftist agitators flood the streets, patriotic Americans are pushing back. One grandmother took to social media with a rallying cry that should inspire every freedom-loving citizen: "I need your help. I'm going to my city council to demand their verbal allegiance to The People. We've had 1 ICE event and the PD provided cover... TEACH ME I am ready Love grandma."

This grassroots response highlights the growing divide between ordinary Americans who want immigration laws enforced and the radical establishment that profits from chaos at our borders. For too long, sanctuary cities have harbored dangerous criminals while law-abiding citizens pay the price.

The timing of these protests is no coincidence. Trump's Department of Homeland Security, led by Governor Kristi Noem, has made it clear that the days of selective law enforcement are over. Cities that refuse to cooperate with ICE will face consequences – and the left knows it.

As demonstrations continue to spread, one question remains: Will local law enforcement stand with the American people and the rule of law, or will they cave to the mob demanding amnesty for those who broke our immigration laws? The answer will determine whether Trump's deportation agenda succeeds or fails.

Can someone explain how severing ties with ICE helps anyone except people who shouldn't be here in the first place? I genuinely don't understand the logic.

There is no logic - it's all emotional politics designed to appeal to their base.

So now local police can't work with federal agencies to enforce immigration law? What's next, no cooperation on drug trafficking or terrorism cases?

Great point - this sets a dangerous precedent for all federal-local cooperation.

This is exactly what's wrong with these liberal city councils - they're more interested in virtue signaling than keeping their communities safe. ICE does important work protecting our borders and removing dangerous criminals.

Couldn't agree more. These same politicians will cry about crime rates but then hamstring law enforcement at every turn.

As a vet, I took an oath to defend this country and its laws. It's frustrating to see elected officials actively undermining law enforcement efforts.

The resistance continues! They can't accept that immigration laws exist for a reason.

Why are they connecting a Minneapolis incident to DC policy? This seems like they're just using any excuse to push their anti-enforcement agenda.

This is why Trump won - Americans are sick of politicians who prioritize illegal immigrants over their own citizens' safety.

I live in DC and I'm tired of this council making decisions that make our city less safe. We need MORE cooperation between agencies, not less.
