Three prominent New York Democrats found themselves in damage control mode after anti-Semitic protesters chanted "we support Hamas" during a demonstration in a Jewish neighborhood in Queens, forcing even the squad's poster child Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to issue a rare condemnation.
Governor Kathy Hochul, Rep. AOC, and Queens Borough President Donovan Richards all rushed to denounce the disgusting display after videos of the chants went viral on social media. The protest took place in a heavily Jewish area, making the Hamas support chants particularly vile and threatening to local residents.
But here's what's rich about this sudden moral clarity: where was this outrage for the past year when similar anti-Semitic protests have been plaguing college campuses and city streets across America? These same Democrats have been making excuses for the radical left's Jew-hatred while Trump supporters get labeled as extremists for waving American flags.
Too Little, Too Late for New York Democrats
AOC, who has built her entire political brand on supporting every far-left cause imaginable, called the chants "disgusting and antisemitic" in what appears to be a calculated move to save face with Jewish voters. This is the same congresswoman who has repeatedly criticized Israel's right to defend itself and pushed anti-Israel policies in Congress.
"The hypocrisy is staggering. These Democrats have spent years enabling the radical anti-Israel movement, and now they're shocked when it turns openly pro-Hamas?"
Hochul's condemnation rings equally hollow, considering her administration has done little to crack down on the wave of anti-Semitic incidents plaguing New York under Democratic leadership. Jewish families are fleeing the state in record numbers due to rising anti-Semitism, yet Democrats only speak up when the cameras are rolling.
This is what happens when you let the radical left run wild for years – eventually, they stop hiding their true colors. While President Trump has been the strongest pro-Israel president in history, Democrats have cultivated a base that openly supports terrorist organizations.
How many more Jewish families will have to feel unsafe in their own neighborhoods before Democrats take real action against anti-Semitism in their ranks?
