New York City's radical Democrat leadership is having a complete meltdown after President Trump's Department of Homeland Security detained an illegal alien who was brazenly working for the city government while living in the country unlawfully for nearly a decade.
DHS agents detained Rafael Andres Rubio Bohorquez, 53, a Venezuelan national working as a data analyst for the New York City Council, during a routine immigration court hearing on Long Island Monday. The detention has sent shockwaves through NYC's sanctuary city establishment, with far-left Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) launching hysterical attacks on federal immigration enforcement.
Here's what these Democrat politicians don't want you to know: Bohorquez entered the United States on a B-2 tourist visa in 2017 that required him to leave the country that same year. Instead of following the law like millions of legal immigrants do, he simply stayed—for eight years—and somehow landed a taxpayer-funded job with the city government.
But it gets worse. DHS also cited an assault arrest in Bohorquez's detention, raising serious questions about how NYC's vetting process allowed someone with a criminal background and illegal status to handle sensitive government data.
"Mamdani's continued presence in the US is an assault on our republic," posted @Connectionary on social media, highlighting the irony of Mamdani calling ICE's lawful detention an 'assault on our democracy.'
Patriots on social media aren't buying the Democrats' outrage. @USAF_Veteran57 pointed out the obvious: "DHS said the employee entered the US on a B-2 tourist visa in 2017 that required him to leave the country later that year. - Mamdani should take this as a sign."
This is exactly why Americans voted for Trump's return to the White House. While Democrats scream about "democracy" being under attack, they're the ones harboring illegal aliens in government positions, potentially giving foreign nationals access to sensitive municipal data and operations.
The Trump administration's swift action sends a clear message: the days of sanctuary cities operating as lawless zones are over. No one—regardless of their government connections—is above immigration law.
How many more illegal aliens are embedded in government positions across Democrat-controlled cities? And why are taxpayers funding salaries for people who shouldn't even be in the country?
