Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem has tentatively agreed to appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee in February, but she's drawing a hard line in the sand over how long senators can grill her - and Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley isn't having it.

According to exclusive reporting from the Washington Examiner, Noem is willing to show up but wants to cap her testimony at just one five-minute round of questioning. That's not sitting well with Grassley, who's pushing back against what appears to be an attempt to limit congressional oversight.

"The date isn't a problem right now -- the length of questioning is a problem," Grassley told reporters, as confirmed by journalist Dion Sivak on social media.

"She's willing to come, but she wanted to limit it to one five-minute round, and we won't," sources familiar with the negotiations revealed.

This standoff raises serious questions about transparency and accountability in the Trump-Vance administration. While Noem has been a stalwart ally of President Trump and has earned respect for her America First stance on border security, attempting to rush through congressional testimony in just five minutes looks like bureaucratic stonewalling.

Why The Pushback?

Patriots have to wonder: what's the rush? If Noem is doing the people's business at DHS and has nothing to hide, why not give senators adequate time to ask about her department's critical mission of securing our borders and protecting American communities?

Grassley, a seasoned Iowa Republican who's been fighting the Deep State longer than most, clearly isn't going to let any cabinet secretary - even one from his own party - dictate the terms of congressional oversight.

This bureaucratic tug-of-war comes at a crucial time when Americans expect their Homeland Security Secretary to be fully engaged with Congress on mass deportations, border wall completion, and dismantling the failed Biden-era policies that left our nation vulnerable.

Will Noem step up and give Congress the time they need for proper oversight, or will this standoff continue? The American people deserve transparency from their government - even when it's uncomfortable.

Good for Governor Noem! These Senate committees love to grandstand and waste time with their endless questioning. She's got a state to run and shouldn't have to sit through their political theater all day.

Exactly! They did the same thing to other Trump nominees. It's all about obstruction.

Finally someone with backbone! Too many nominees just roll over and let these senators walk all over them.

This is why we need more governors like Noem in Washington. She won't be bullied by the establishment swamp creatures on either side.

How long are they expecting her to testify anyway? I've sat through local government meetings that drag on forever - it's pure inefficiency. Set reasonable time limits and stick to them.

Usually these hearings are supposed to be 4-6 hours max, but some senators love the camera time and stretch it out unnecessarily.

Kristi Noem has always been a straight shooter. If she says the testimony length is unreasonable, I believe her.
