House Republicans delivered a major victory for government accountability Wednesday, advancing legislation that would finally ban members of Congress from trading stocks while Democrats fought to water down the anti-corruption measures.

The Stop Insider Trading Act passed the House Administration Committee by a 7-4 vote, requiring lawmakers, their spouses, and dependent children to give seven days public notice before any stock transactions. But here's the kicker - Democrats complained the bill was TOO strict, proving once again they prefer the swamp over transparency.

This is exactly the kind of swamp-draining action Trump supporters have been demanding for years. While career politicians like Nancy Pelosi got rich making suspiciously well-timed trades, everyday Americans watched their retirements evaporate during the Biden recession.

Democrats Defend the Indefensible

Committee Democrats argued the legislation "doesn't go far enough" - which is Washington speak for "we want loopholes we can exploit." Their opposition exposes the uncomfortable truth: many Democrats have been profiting handsomely from their insider knowledge while pretending to represent working families.

The bill's seven-day disclosure requirement would shine a spotlight on congressional trading that's been hidden in shadows for decades. No wonder the party of big government doesn't want this level of scrutiny.

Republican committee members deserve credit for pushing this through despite Democratic obstruction. This is what real government reform looks like - not the fake "ethics" investigations Democrats use to target their political opponents.

Accountability Finally Coming to Washington

With Trump back in the White House and Republicans controlling Congress, we're finally seeing the kind of anti-establishment action that voters demanded in November. The Stop Insider Trading Act represents exactly the type of swamp-draining legislation that career politicians have blocked for years.

The question now is whether this bill will make it to Trump's desk, where it would certainly be signed into law. Patriots should be watching closely to see which lawmakers try to kill this common-sense reform behind closed doors.

Isn't it telling that it takes a Republican majority to even consider banning the obvious corruption that's been enriching politicians at taxpayers' expense?

Finally! Republicans are actually doing something about the swamp instead of just talking about it. Nancy Pelosi made millions off her tech stock trades while crafting legislation that affected those same companies - that's textbook corruption.

Don't forget about her husband's NVIDIA purchases right before the CHIPS act passed. Suspicious timing much?

Why am I not surprised Democrats want weaker rules? They've been getting rich off insider information for decades while regular Americans struggle with inflation and high taxes they helped create.
