The swamp creatures are showing their true colors again. Just as President Trump threatens to invoke the Insurrection Act to restore law and order in Minneapolis following violent protests over an ICE shooting, establishment Republicans are stabbing him in the back instead of standing with their own president.
The unrest erupted after Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers fatally shot Renee Nicole Good during what sources describe as a lawful enforcement operation. But instead of waiting for facts, the usual suspects took to the streets, turning Minneapolis into a powder keg of anti-law enforcement rage.
President Trump, showing the decisive leadership that got him elected twice, made it clear he won't tolerate another Minneapolis being burned to the ground on his watch. The Insurrection Act exists precisely for situations like this - when local authorities can't or won't maintain basic order.
But rather than backing their commander-in-chief, Republican lawmakers are wringing their hands and playing politics. These are the same weak-kneed politicians who stood by while cities burned during the 2020 "summer of love" riots.
"We cannot allow federal overreach, even when dealing with civil unrest," one GOP source reportedly told Fox News, apparently forgetting that maintaining domestic tranquility is literally the federal government's constitutional duty.
This is exactly the kind of establishment cowardice that drove millions of Americans to support Trump in the first place. While radical leftists destroy property and threaten innocent lives, these Republicans are more worried about their cocktail party invitations than protecting law-abiding citizens.
Patriots understand what's really happening here. The deep state and their GOP allies can't stand that Trump is actually following through on his promises to secure our borders and enforce immigration law. They'd rather see American cities burn than give Trump another victory.
The question every American should be asking: If these Republicans won't stand with Trump when anarchists are literally rioting against immigration enforcement, when exactly will they find their backbone?
