With President Trump's mass deportation operation gearing up for full implementation, House Democrats are already showing their true colors on immigration enforcement – and it's not pretty for American patriots who want our laws enforced.
House Democratic Caucus Chair Rep. Pete Aguilar (D-CA) appeared on CNN Friday where he tried to have his cake and eat it too, claiming he doesn't want to abolish ICE while simultaneously arguing the immigration enforcement agency has "too much money from our perspective."
Let that sink in, folks. As Trump prepares to deliver on his campaign promise to launch the largest deportation operation in American history, the House Democratic leadership is already complaining that ICE – the agency tasked with removing criminal illegal aliens from our communities – is too well-funded.
Democrats Playing Both Sides
Aguilar's comments reveal the impossible position Democrats find themselves in as Trump takes the reins. They can't outright defend abolishing ICE because they know it's political suicide with everyday Americans who want border security. But they also can't alienate their radical base that views any immigration enforcement as "fascism."
So instead, we get this pathetic middle ground: Don't abolish ICE, just starve it of resources so it can't do its job effectively.
The California Democrat also tried to provide cover for his more radical colleagues calling for ICE's complete elimination, suggesting they're just "reflecting what they are hearing" from constituents. Translation: The progressive base is demanding abolition, and House Democrats are listening.
Trump's Immigration Mandate
This desperate positioning from House Democrats comes at the worst possible time for their party. Trump won a decisive mandate in 2024 partly on his promise to secure the border and remove the millions of illegal aliens who flooded into our country during the Biden disaster.
With officials like Tom Homan leading the charge and a Republican-controlled Congress backing the effort, Democrats know they're fighting a losing battle against the will of the American people.
The question isn't whether ICE has "too much money" – it's whether Democrats have any credibility left on immigration after four years of open borders chaos. Based on Aguilar's weak performance, the answer is crystal clear.
