House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer just dropped the hammer on Democrats, challenging them to put their money where their mouth is when it comes to congressional subpoenas – or be forever branded as the partisan hypocrites we all know they are.
Comer called for bipartisan support to hold Bill and Hillary Clinton in contempt of Congress after the power couple brazenly defied subpoenas in the ongoing Jeffrey Epstein investigation. The Kentucky Republican is essentially daring Democrats to apply the same standards they demanded during the Trump years.
"Democrats spent years screaming about the 'sanctity of congressional subpoenas' when it came to President Trump," a source close to the committee told reporters. "Now we'll see if they actually believe in equal justice under the law, or if it was all just political theater."
The Clinton Double Standard
Remember how Democrats and their media allies shrieked about "obstruction" and "contempt" every time Trump administration officials fought congressional overreach? They treated subpoenas like sacred documents that could never be challenged. Nancy Pelosi and her gang acted like defying Congress was tantamount to treason.
But now that it's their beloved Clintons on the hot seat? Crickets.
The Epstein investigation has already revealed disturbing connections between the convicted sex trafficker and powerful Democrats. Bill Clinton's multiple flights on Epstein's "Lolita Express" are well-documented, yet the mainstream media continues to provide cover for the former president.
"The American people deserve answers about who was involved in Epstein's criminal network. No one – including former presidents – is above the law."
Comer's challenge puts Democrats in an impossible position. Support the contempt resolution and anger their Clinton overlords, or oppose it and expose themselves as the partisan hacks Patriots always knew they were.
With Trump back in the White House and Republicans controlling Congress, the days of Democrat immunity are over. The Clintons can no longer hide behind their political connections and complicit media.
Will Democrats finally show they believe in equal justice, or will they once again prove that rules are only for Republicans? Smart money says we already know the answer.
