Former Chicago Mayor and Obama administration insider Rahm Emanuel is pushing a suspicious new scheme to impose mandatory retirement ages on federal officials - and the timing couldn't be more obvious.
Emanuel wants a 75-year age limit for presidents, Congress members, and Supreme Court justices. Gee, wonder who that's really targeting? President Trump, who's 79 and just delivered the most successful first year of any modern presidency, would be the prime casualty of this Democrat power grab.
But here's what's really rich about Emanuel's proposal: Where was this brilliant idea when Joe Biden was stumbling around the White House at 82, clearly suffering from cognitive decline that every American could see? The same Democrats now crying about age limits were perfectly fine with Weekend at Bernie's Biden barely able to complete a sentence.
Convenient Timing, Democrats
This isn't about age - it's about results. President Trump is sharper, more energetic, and more effective than politicians half his age. He's securing our border, bringing jobs back to America, and making our enemies respect us again. Meanwhile, 40-something AOC can barely string together a coherent economic policy.
Emanuel's scheme would also target conservative Supreme Court justices like Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito, while conveniently protecting the left's darling Ruth Bader Ginsburg disciples who are still climbing the federal bench.
"This proposal reeks of political desperation from Democrats who can't beat Trump at the ballot box, so now they want to change the rules,"
said one conservative legal analyst.
The American people just spoke loud and clear in 2024, giving President Trump a decisive mandate to continue his America First agenda. Now establishment swamp creatures like Emanuel want to overturn the will of voters with arbitrary age limits that coincidentally target the most successful president of our lifetime.
Here's a better idea, Rahm: How about we let voters decide who's too old to serve? That's called democracy - you should try it sometime instead of cooking up schemes to silence the choice of 75 million Americans.
