The 2028 presidential race isn't starting in Iowa or New Hampshire, folks. It started in Davos, Switzerland – at a ritzy ski lodge where unelected billionaires decide the fate of American democracy over champagne and canapés.
Alex Soros, heir to George Soros's Open Society Foundation billions, just rolled out the red carpet for California Governor Gavin Newsom at the World Economic Forum, publicly calling him "the real star of 2026" and all but anointing him as the Democratic Party's chosen one for 2028. When a Soros endorsement drops, it comes with the full weight of a political machine – prosecutors, ballot initiatives, and a coordinated media blitz that can manufacture consent like a factory assembly line.
The Hypocrisy Is Staggering
Here's the kicker that should make every American's blood boil: Newsom showed up to Davos carrying literal "Trump knee pads" as a political stunt, mocking world leaders for supposedly bending the knee to President Donald Trump. Then this clown turned around and got on his knees for Soros money behind closed doors.
He spent his time criticizing European leaders for "capitulating" to Trump while simultaneously accepting the blessing of an unelected globalist billionaire who treats America like his personal chessboard. You can't make this stuff up.
Treasury Secretary Bessent Delivers the Knockout Punch
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent absolutely eviscerated Newsom, calling him "Patrick Bateman meets Sparkle Beach Ken" and noting he "may be the only Californian who knows less about economics than Kamala Harris."
"He's in Davos hobnobbing with global elites while California citizens whose homes burned in the Palisades are still homeless," Bessent pointed out.
And he's right. Newsom's signature policies have driven residents fleeing from California in droves, created a catastrophic budget deficit, produced the largest homeless population in America, and delivered rolling blackouts to the Golden State. This is the man the globalist elite wants running the entire country?
The White House Fires Back
The Trump administration wasn't about to let this slide. White House officials questioned why this "third-rate governor" was frolicking around Switzerland instead of fixing the disaster zone he created back home. President Trump, being the bigger person, initially bounced Newsom from the USA House event in Davos, then relented – only for Newsom to have a complete meltdown, comparing ICE agents to Nazis and claiming his speech was canceled due to "authoritarian tendencies."
He actually said ICE Commander Greg Bovino "looks like he bought SS garb from eBay." This is what passes for statesmanship from the Democrats' anointed one.
The Machine Is Warming Up
Make no mistake about what's happening here. Betting markets immediately shifted after the Soros endorsement, showing Newsom as the clear favorite for the 2028 Democratic nomination. When Alex Soros posts that he's "glad Newsom is calling out world leaders" and urges people to "stand tall, stand firm, and stand united before it's too late," every donor and media ally in the network gets the signal.
As journalist Lara Logan bluntly put it, "If stupidity was a crime, Alex Soros would be jailed for life." There's video of this Soros heir bumbling through questions about democracy at Davos, barely able to form coherent sentences while lecturing the world about disinformation. This is the man deciding who runs for president – not because he earned it, but because he inherited daddy's checkbook.
Jesse Watters made an excellent point: Newsom has been in politics his entire life, and nobody can find a single exciting speech or memorable phrase he's ever delivered. They didn't even let him speak at Kamala's convention – just used him for pom-poms. Yet this empty suit is being positioned as the future of the Democratic Party because a billionaire said so.
This is oligarchy with democratic window dressing, Patriots. And they're not even trying to hide it anymore. The question is: will the American people let them get away with it?
