Michigan's radical Attorney General Dana Nessel has launched a desperate attack on American energy independence, filing a bogus lawsuit against major oil companies just days before President Trump begins his second term focused on energy dominance and lowering gas prices for working families.

Nessel's Friday lawsuit targets BP, Chevron, ExxonMobil, Shell, and the American Petroleum Institute, absurdly claiming they formed a "cartel" to conspire against the failing electric vehicle market. The timing couldn't be more suspicious – or more telling about the left's priorities.

While Trump prepares to "drill, baby, drill" and bring down energy costs crushing American households, Nessel is doing the bidding of climate extremists by attacking the very companies that power our economy and keep our lights on.

Another Weaponized Attorney General

This lawsuit reeks of the same weaponization of law enforcement we've seen from Democrat AGs across the country. Instead of focusing on real crimes plaguing Michigan – like the surge in violent crime in Detroit – Nessel is wasting taxpayer resources on climate activism disguised as law enforcement.

The alleged "conspiracy" against electric vehicles? Give us a break. EVs are failing in the marketplace because Americans don't want them, not because of some imaginary oil company plot. Even with massive government subsidies and mandates, EVs remain expensive, unreliable, and impractical for most working families.

"This is nothing more than lawfare against American energy companies by a radical AG more interested in virtue signaling than actual justice," said one energy industry analyst.

Meanwhile, these same oil companies Nessel is attacking employ thousands of Michigan workers and contribute billions to the state's economy. But apparently, that doesn't matter to an AG more concerned with appeasing environmental extremists than protecting Michigan jobs.

Perfect Timing for Trump's Energy Revolution

Nessel's anti-energy crusade provides the perfect contrast to Trump's pro-American energy agenda. While radical Democrats waste time and money attacking our energy sector, President Trump is preparing to unleash the greatest energy boom in American history.

Patriots should ask themselves: Do you want leaders who attack American energy companies with frivolous lawsuits, or do you want leaders like Trump who will fight to lower your gas prices and achieve true energy independence? The choice couldn't be clearer.

Absolutely disgraceful waste of taxpayer resources.

This is exactly what we warned about when we elected these radical Democrats. They're using our tax dollars to wage war on American energy independence while gas prices are killing working families.

Couldn't agree more Mike. My husband works in the oil industry and we're watching good paying American jobs get destroyed by these activist AGs.

Finally someone is calling this out! These 'climate cartel' lawsuits are nothing but political theater designed to score points with the green lobby.

Can someone explain how this lawsuit actually helps Michigan families heat their homes this winter? Because last I checked, we still need affordable energy and these companies provide it.

It doesn't help families at all. It's just virtue signaling while real people suffer from high energy costs.
