The controversy erupted after Secretary Rollins explained that a nutritious $3 meal could consist of chicken, a tortilla, and a piece of broccoli. Rather than engaging with the substance of her point, the unnamed New York Democrat tried to pull the classic liberal move of claiming she was "out of touch" for suggesting Americans could eat well on $15 a day through food stamp benefits.
Big mistake.
