The failing New York Times is at it again, folks. This time, their so-called 'journalists' are throwing around fancy legal terms they clearly don't understand in yet another desperate attempt to smear President Trump.

According to a devastating analysis from The Federalist, NYT reporters are accusing Trump of 'perfidy' - a serious war crime under international law - without having the first clue about what that term actually means or requires legally.

Here's the problem: perfidy isn't just a fancy word for 'bad behavior' that liberal journalists can toss around whenever they're feeling dramatic. It's a specific violation of the laws of war that requires very particular circumstances and intent.

Elite Ignorance on Full Display

The Federalist's analysis makes clear that even if the Times had correctly articulated the legal criteria for perfidy - which they didn't - the factual circumstances they report don't come close to proving such a violation occurred.

This is what happens when ivory tower journalists think they can play lawyer without doing their homework. They end up looking like the partisan hacks they are, throwing around serious accusations they can't back up with actual legal analysis.

The factual circumstances reported by the Times do not prove that perfidy was committed, even if the correct criteria had been articulated.

It's almost embarrassing to watch. These are supposed to be the 'elite' journalists at America's 'paper of record,' yet they can't even be bothered to look up basic legal definitions before making inflammatory accusations against the President of the United States.

Same Old Playbook

This is exactly the kind of sloppy, partisan 'journalism' that got Trump elected twice. Americans are sick of media elites who think they can manipulate public opinion with big words and fake expertise.

The New York Times has spent years proving they're nothing more than an extension of the Democratic Party's communications office. Now they can't even get their legal terminology straight while trying to manufacture another scandal.

How many more times will the legacy media embarrass themselves before they realize Americans have seen through their act?

I used to respect the Times back in the day, but now it's just partisan hackery dressed up with a bow tie. When did journalism become about impressing people with vocabulary instead of reporting facts?

The NYT has been doing this for years - using fancy language to hide the fact they have zero substance behind their attacks. It's like watching college freshmen try to sound smart by cramming thesaurus words into basic sentences.

It's deliberate though - they know their readers won't fact-check as long as it sounds intellectual enough.

Exactly! My nephew does the same thing in his English papers - lots of big words but no real argument.
