Just two weeks into President Trump's second term, the usual suspects are already at it again. Former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton have rushed to condemn Border Patrol agents following the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti, prioritizing political theater over supporting our men and women in uniform.
Both ex-presidents released carefully crafted statements Sunday that while offering token sympathy for Pretti's death, immediately pivoted to attacking the "string of events" that led to the shooting. Translation: they're blaming the agents who risk their lives every day securing our border.
This is exactly the kind of anti-law enforcement rhetoric that plagued America during the Obama-Biden years and contributed to the war on police we saw throughout the last decade. Instead of waiting for facts or supporting the difficult work our Border Patrol agents do, these Democratic leaders immediately assume the worst about our federal agents.
Same Old Playbook
The timing here isn't coincidental, Patriots. President Trump has made border security and backing our law enforcement officers cornerstones of his agenda. Just as Border Patrol agents are finally getting the support they deserve after years of being hamstrung by the Biden regime, here come Obama and Clinton to undermine their authority.
"This is the same crowd that spent four years telling border agents to stand down while millions of illegal immigrants poured across our border," one Border Patrol union representative told conservative media outlets.
The statements also referenced "recent events in Minnesota," suggesting these former presidents are trying to tie isolated incidents into some broader narrative against federal law enforcement – the same playbook they used to demonize police departments across America.
While the details of the Pretti shooting are still being investigated, one thing is crystal clear: our Border Patrol agents deserve the benefit of the doubt, not immediate condemnation from former presidents who spent their time in office making their jobs harder.
Why are Obama and Clinton so quick to attack the very agents working to secure the border that they helped weaken? Patriots deserve answers.
