DEFIANT: Blue State Governors SUE Trump After $16 BILLION Tunnel Boondoggle Gets AXED

Liberal governors in New York and New Jersey are running to federal court like spoiled children after President Trump's administration put the brakes on a massive $16 billion boondoggle disguised as the Gateway tunnel project under the Hudson River.

The two blue states filed a lawsuit Tuesday accusing the Trump administration of "illegally withholding" federal funding for the new rail tunnel - because apparently these Democrat-run states think they're entitled to taxpayer dollars for their pet projects, no matter how wasteful or overpriced.

This is exactly the kind of fiscal responsibility Americans voted for when they put Trump back in the White House. While New York and New Jersey politicians cry about their tunnel money being frozen, patriots across the country are cheering another example of the Trump administration putting America First instead of funding endless liberal wish lists.

"Our Great Palestinian Senator @SenSchumer didn't realize the #potus is a formidable enemy to make. Another #trump spanking. #newyork #newjersey should be defunded at every possible turn due 2 their wasteful policies,"

tweeted one supporter, highlighting how Chuck Schumer and these blue state governors picked the wrong fight.

The Gateway project has been a poster child for government waste and mismanagement for years. As one social media user pointed out, previous governors failed to move forward when costs were manageable - "if he hadn't it would be finished at half the cost." Now these same failed leaders want hardworking Americans to foot the bill for their incompetence.

This lawsuit perfectly captures the entitlement mentality of Democrat-run states. They rack up massive debts with their socialist policies, drive out businesses and taxpayers, then demand federal bailouts when reality hits. Governor Kathy Hochul and her New Jersey counterparts think they can bully President Trump like they did the weak Biden administration.

They're about to learn the hard way that Trump doesn't cave to political pressure or frivolous lawsuits. Every dollar saved from this tunnel boondoggle is a dollar that stays with the American people instead of disappearing into the black hole of blue state corruption.

How many more taxpayer-funded disasters will these liberal governors demand before they learn to live within their means?

My small town can't even get federal funding to fix our water treatment plant, but these wealthy blue states expect billions for luxury tunnels. The priorities are completely backwards.

Can someone explain why this tunnel was so expensive in the first place? I've seen entire highway systems built for less than $16B. Sounds like there was a lot of padding in those contracts.

Union labor costs, environmental studies that take forever, and probably 50 layers of bureaucracy. Classic government efficiency right there.

This is exactly why Trump got elected - to stop the endless spending on boondoggles like this!

FINALLY! Someone who actually looks at the price tag before signing off on these ridiculous projects. $16 billion could fix infrastructure across multiple red states instead of one overpriced tunnel.

Exactly! My state has been waiting years for bridge repairs while these blue states get blank checks for pet projects.

These governors act like it's their personal piggy bank. Good on Trump for putting taxpayers first!

Love seeing governors throw tantrums when they can't waste federal money anymore. Maybe they should try funding their own projects for once instead of reaching into everyone else's pockets.
