Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) is facing a perfect storm of controversy as he simultaneously defends sanctuary cities that shield illegal immigrants from deportation while being exposed for spending over $200,000 in campaign funds on personal childcare expenses.

During Tuesday's appearance on "CNN News Central," the gubernatorial candidate made the outrageous claim that Democrats shouldn't accept any changes to sanctuary cities as part of DHS funding negotiations. According to Swalwell, sanctuary cities exist so "we don't deport people for helping to make our communities safer."

Let that sink in, Patriots. This is the same politician who thinks illegal immigrants "make our communities safer" while President Trump's administration works tirelessly to remove dangerous criminals and gang members from American streets through the largest deportation operation in U.S. history.

Campaign Finance Scandal Exposes Democrat Hypocrisy

But Swalwell's sanctuary city defense comes as Americans are discovering how he's been treating campaign contributions like his personal ATM. Social media erupted with outrage over his financial misconduct, with one user posting: "These Democrats treat their campaign contributions as their personal piggy bank. Swalwell reimburses himself for childcare to the tune of 200k."

"A dirtbag and a thief, in other words, a communist Democrats/liberal," another frustrated American wrote on social media, perfectly capturing how fed-up voters feel about this kind of corruption.

A campaign finance expert told Fox News that Swalwell's childcare spending represents a "slippery slope" and is "creating a special class of politicians" who live by different rules than hardworking American families.

This is exactly the kind of swamp behavior that President Trump was elected to drain. While Swalwell lectures Americans about protecting illegal immigrants, he's been quietly enriching himself with campaign cash that should have been used to serve his constituents.

The timing couldn't be worse for Swalwell, who's now running for California governor while defending policies that directly undermine Trump's America First agenda. As ICE agents work around the clock to remove criminal aliens, politicians like Swalwell are doing everything possible to obstruct justice and protect those who shouldn't be here in the first place.

How can voters trust a politician who can't even handle campaign finances honestly to protect American communities from the very real dangers of unchecked illegal immigration?

Another reason why we need term limits and campaign finance reform. These career politicians think they're above the law!

Typical swamp creature behavior - using campaign funds like his personal piggy bank while pushing policies that hurt American families. How is this even legal?
C
ConstitutionFirstVerifiedjust now
It's not legal, but the FEC is toothless when it comes to Democrats. Rules for thee but not for me!

So let me get this straight - he's spending donor money on his kids while supporting policies that let illegals drain our school budgets and social services. The hypocrisy is astounding.

$200K would pay for a lot of border security or help for American families struggling with childcare costs. But no, Swalwell gets to live high on the hog with other people's money.

Exactly! That money could have gone toward actual conservative candidates who would secure our borders instead of his personal expenses.

As someone who's had to scrimp and save for childcare costs, this makes my blood boil. We follow the rules and pay our own way while politicians like this abuse the system.
