DEFIANT: Minnesota County Attorney REFUSES to Cooperate with Trump's ICE Operation, Calls Admin 'Preposterous'

Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty is digging in her heels against the Trump administration's immigration enforcement blitz, calling it "preposterous" for Border Czar Tom Homan to request cooperation in exchange for ending ICE operations in her jurisdiction.

Speaking on MSNBC's "The Last Word" Wednesday night, the defiant Minnesota prosecutor accused the administration of holding her county hostage, claiming Homan and Trump are essentially saying "if you capitulate to our demands, that is when we will end this occupation."

But here's what Moriarty conveniently left out: her office is actively obstructing federal law enforcement while simultaneously DEMANDING evidence from the very agents she's undermining. Talk about having your cake and eating it too.

The controversy stems from last month's shooting death of Renee Good during an ICE operation. Rather than allowing federal authorities to conduct their investigation, Moriarty is playing political games and grandstanding for the cameras.

"Hennepin County attorney Mary Moriarty is giving the federal government two weeks to hand over evidence about last month's shooting death of Renee Good by an ICE agent. 'We need these records as part of our ongoing investigation into her death,'"

reported WCCO Radio, highlighting the prosecutor's ultimatum approach.

FOX9 noted that Moriarty "has submitted formal requests for evidence from federal authorities in the shooting of Renee Good at the hands of ICE officer Jonathan Ross," while Scripps News confirmed she's "not backing down in her search for answers."

The Real Issue: Sanctuary Obstruction

What we're witnessing here isn't concern for justice—it's textbook sanctuary city obstruction. Moriarty wants to have it both ways: block ICE from doing their job removing criminal aliens, then demand federal cooperation when things go sideways.

This is exactly why President Trump campaigned on ending sanctuary policies that put American communities at risk. When local prosecutors actively work against federal immigration enforcement, tragedies become inevitable.

Patriots across Minnesota are watching this power struggle unfold, wondering why their elected prosecutor is more concerned with protecting illegal aliens than cooperating with the federal agents trying to make their neighborhoods safer.

How long will Minnesota voters tolerate prosecutors who put politics over public safety?

This is exactly what's wrong with our country - local officials thinking they can just ignore federal law when it doesn't suit their agenda. The people of Minnesota deserve better than this obstruction.

Absolutely right! These sanctuary policies are bankrupting our communities and putting families at risk.

How is enforcing immigration law 'preposterous'? Trump won on this exact issue and has a clear mandate from the American people to secure our borders and enforce our laws.
